Meet Aine

Áine is completing her last few months of nursing school in Ireland.
She has worked part time as a care assistant throughout and in the Covid ICU for 6 months during the winter surge.

What is the soundtrack to your life?

Dreams by Fleetwood Mac and Days Like This by Van Morrisson .

What’s the hardest thing you’ve ever done?

I’m pretty young, (in my early twenties) so I’m sure I haven’t done it yet.  I didn’t drink until I was 18… and I grew up in Ireland!

What was the last experience that made you a stronger person?

Moving out of home and living alone in the city–because I went to work in the Covid ICU.

What did you do growing up that got you into trouble?

I was the perfect child.

What’s something you cook that’s super easy and super delicious?

I don’t have time to really cook.  I love takeout. But if I’m cooking, it would have to be a creamy prawn tagliatelle.  Saute the prawns in garlic, add cream and parmesan, a drop of pasta water, your tagliatelle and voila!

If you could be any fictional character, who would you choose?

Nurse Jackie…just joking…Pam from the office–because she had a very low stress job and she got to marry John Krizinski.

What are the products you use, love and that make your life a little more awesome?

Can’t live without: RayBans, I always have them on my nose or on my head. A pair in the car and a pair in my purse. My favourite trip is to the beaches of Los Angeles, with my RayBans on, I can dream of being there…even if I spend most of my year in rainy Ireland.

LuLuLemon leggings. The most comfortable leggings, for the gym or for fashion. I literally live in these.

Jo Malone candle.  This is one of my most loved gifts. A scent that helps me relax after a long shift and to get those hospital smells out of my brain. It’s a huge candle that lasts for months.

Bose Mini Soundlink speaker for having people over (pre-covid!) and listening to my favorite podcasts.

La Roche Posay Effaclar facial cleanser. After suffering years of problematic skin, I finally found a cleanser that prevents breakouts and keeps my skin glowing. It also lasts months, a little goes a long way!

Crest teeth whitening strips. I’m a student and I drink way too much coffee.

Tresemme flat iron.  Much to my grandparents’ chagrin, on special occasions I straighten my Irish curls.  This straightener works so well no one would ever guess that I was born with a head full of curls.
